Baggage Information

NOTE: The passenger is responsible for the contents of his suitcase and its proper packaging.

  1. Hand luggage

To ensure that your luggage arrives safely and on time for your flight, it’s important to pack carefully and securely. Use durable luggage that can withstand the rigors of travel, and consider adding luggage tags with your contact information in case your bags get lost. Additionally, arrive at the airport early to allow enough time for your luggage to be checked in and processed before your flight.

Hand luggage per travel class

Economy Class Premium Class Business Class
Number One item of hand luggage Two items of hand luggage Two items of hand luggage
Weight max. 8kg max. 8kg max. 18kg
Size max. 55 x 40 x 23 cm max. 55 x 40 x 23 cm max. 55 x 40 x 23 cm

The weight and size of your hand luggage are checked at the airport and it will be checked in if necessary. Additional charges are incurred if you exceed your free baggage allowance. Please note that these fees are higher than the regular check-in.

Alternatively, you can also carry a folding garment bag measuring 57 x 54 x 15 cm instead of hand luggage.

Please note that on some flights your hand luggage bag must be stowed in the cargo hold due to the aircraft type.

You are kindly requested always refer to your airline’s guidelines and rules.

  1. Checked baggage

The quantity of bags, the fees, and the permissible dimensions can differ based on your flight, fare type and travel class. Therefore, we recommend verifying the specific baggage details on the Airlines website or your booking prior to each flight.

The average dimensions of the checked bags are 158cm (62inches). If the weight is exceeding 32kgs, the baggage is considered as special, specific charges and handling apply.

You are kindly requested always refer to your airline’s guidelines and rules.

  1. Extra pieces of baggage and overweight

Extra piece of baggage refers to any luggage that surpasses the free checked baggage allowance for your fare type.

Heavy baggage is any checked luggage weighing between 23kg and 32kg. Luggage over 32kg must be shipped as cargo. Additionally, luggage up to 32kg but exceeding the size limit of 158 cm (62 inches) is classified as oversized baggage and incurs additional charges.

You are kindly requested always refer to your airline’s guidelines and rules.

  1. Permitted liquids on board

100 millilitre containers

You may carry liquids in your hand luggage in containers with a capacity of up to 100 millilitres and packed in a transparent, reusable one litre plastic bag (e.g. “zip bag”).

  • Please note that the printed maximum filling quantity and not the actual content applies.

  • Liquids include pastes, lotions, mixtures of liquids and solids, as well as the contents of pressure containers, such as toothpaste, hair gel, drinks, soups, syrup, perfume, shaving foam and other items with similar consistency as well as sprays, aerosols and gels.

You are kindly requested always refer to your airline’s guidelines and rules.

  1. Medication – special food

Medication and special foods

Medication and special foods (e.g. baby food) required during the flight may be taken outside the plastic bag, but must be presented at the security control.

You are kindly requested always refer to your airline’s guidelines and rules.
